Now I know that most of you have heard of Dr. Browns bottles. I have some of their standard bottles in different sizes but I have never tried their glass bottles. Here is some information about them from their website.
The vent system fully vents our bottle for vacuum-free feeding, which we call positive-pressure flow, similar to breastfeeding. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system, bypassing the breastmilk or formula, to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breastmilk or formula which minimizes oxidation and helps preserve essential nutrients like vitamins C, A and E.
Babies feed more comfortably because the vent system allows them to nurse without fighting the negative effects of a vacuum or the discomfort of ingesting air bubbles. This helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping, and gas. The breastmilk or formula flows freely, without nipple collapse.
Here is what I tried out.
Since we are using 3-4 ounces I started out with 4oz bottles. These fit great in my diaper bag.
Helps Preserve Vitamins C, A & E + Lipids
Proven to reduce air bubble oxidation of milk to help preserve key nutrients to baby's health.
Vacuum-Free Feeding Like Breastfeeding
Fully vented bottle design provides vacuum-free feeding similar to breastfeeding.
Reduces Colic, Split-Up, Burping & Gas
Eliminates negative pressure and air bubbles to help reduce colic, spit-up, burping and gas.
The only thing I found that I didn't like is that they are much heavier than the standard plastic bottles. Other than that I LOVE these. They are not hard to clean and although I have heard that they have to many parts I feel that they are just fine for us and the pieces do not bother me. It also makes it easier that they have the glass bottle sleeves for them. It makes holding the bottles more stable.
I will be adding more of these bottles to our supply. The baby likes the nipple and keeps him happy. I would recommend getting the extra sleeves not only does it make the bottles look nice it can also help protect the bottles if they are dropped.
